For most Californians the thought of leaving the state is not an option. Recently there has been a lot of talk about people leaving California. High taxes, lack of affordable housing or just the lack of inventory of good houses, crowded streets and traffic, and a homeless crisis that is getting worse are just some of the reasons that residents are packing up. The lack of inventory has kept prices up, and you may sell pretty quickly, but where would you GO?
As a Certified International Property Specialist I have relationships with agents around the world and throughout the US. I have gone to real estate conferences in Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Spain, and Australia and met many agents from other parts of the world as well. I thought I would show a few of my favorite destinations outside of my home State, which I have no intention of leaving anytime soon.

Wondering if you sell your home in California where to move to?
I have a good friend in Arizona who has showed me some incredible opportunities. After doing some research, Arizona happens to be a favorite spot among CA expats. Cost of living is good and there are lots of activities and beautiful affordable housing.

Ive spent a lot of time in Costa Rica and Panama – and I love it. I have driven through both countries and have a lot of contacts there. I am not a tour guide, but I do love talking about how diverse the land is and great spots to visit, and I would be happy to help you find a great place to call home in Costa Rica.

Pure luxury in paradise
Another location that I really loved was Crested Butte Colorado. I lived there during my college years and enjoyed both the summer and winter for extreme wilderness adventure.

Buying a home in the mountains? Crested Butte is a wilderness paradise
The city is at 8,000 feet, so you need to acclimate to the altitude, and the lifestyle keeps you in shape with tons of activities and things to do outside. There are lots of old mountain roads that snake through the forest among some big mountains, Teocalli is a 14ner. In the summer I would mountain bike for hours up 2000 feet or more and downhill for over an hour. Trails like 401 and 403 were roller coasters through beautiful flowers and tree’s. And if in the fall, the gold Aspens made me feel like we were in the Wizard of Ozz. The wintertime snow activities were also extreme and tremendously exciting. I would love to move back to Colorado and I can talk a lot about many of the awesome mountain towns.
If life at the beach is your idea of paradise, then Florida is worth a look. After suffering a correction in the market Florida has rebounded with new construction and vigor. There is a lot to offer and experience in beach towns like Delray. Here are a few other listings to check out https://johnwieland.exprealty.com/details.php?mls=68&mlsid=RX10597740
